Hi All!! I live in Vancouver, I need to get a job offer so I can apply for a work permit. Does anybody knows of any employment agencies and some others that can help me find a potential employer who would be willing to sponsor me. I would welcome any suggestions!

Thank you guys!!

job offer is not enough for you to get work permit, employer has to prove to HRSDC that no Canadian or PR could be able to work that poition and they tried hard enough to find employees for certain period...
unless you could apply work permit bypassing HRSDC confirmation like "post-graduated work permit", certain "high tech" jobs......

Thanks Departure Bay for your feedback. Seems like hard if not impossible to get a job offer then from within Canada. I looked on job banks for open jobs, but seems those job are for people who already have the right for work, not for potential immigrants. Still I wonder how other get job offers and then HRSDC from within!!

At the centre I go to, the lady that is helping us, told us a while ago that you can volenteer, and some have gotten offers that way, so they can keep you.

She said that most who do this, get this through construction, and knowing people.

However, the job still has to be high enough in demand that they are always looking for someone and can prove through adds in paper, online etc that this is the case.

Plus they have to like you enough to deal with the paperwork for you :)

Andre,

You have to understand that once you get a job offer from the employer, She/He (employer) has to get an approval from HRDC also called "Job validation".

Once that stage is done, you may apply for a work permit OUTSIDE of Canada, likely from the Canadian Embassy from you home country.
