Subject: Question for Sharon.................
  Hi Sharon,

As you are a very dedicated person, I would like to know from you as to what would be the expected duration for me to get an IA from CIC buffalo if my case started processing since jan 31, 2004 ? I already received my file number in feb 2nd week and have sent IELTS scores in mid july. Please advise Sharon. I am looking forward to your reply.

Thank You

sorry (in reply to: Question for Sharon.................)
I wish I could help. Quite honestly, I have made no effort to understand the goings on in Buffalo. It is not relevant to my immigration issues. There are lots of folks on this forum going through Buffalo so never fear - there is always an abundance of good answers. I am sure someone will be glad to jump in and give you the information you are looking for.

Hi,

I applied around the same time as you did, actually I applied in Feb 2004. They started processing Feb 27, 04 and I got my IA Oct 18, dated Oct 8th with Interview Required in Detroit.

You should have already gotten your IA. I am no expert in this matter so I would not know why you have not received it. I ordered my CAIPS notes to see the reason for interview, maybe I can still obtain a waiver as I am told the interview queue is pretty long.

Hope that helped a bit. Thanks

Thank you sharon as well as Anonymous for your comments.

Anonymous, do you think the reason why i am not hearing anything is because of some backlog or does it depend from person to person´s application.

Nanny finishing contract early (in reply to: Question for Sharon.................)
Hello,

I currently have a nanny who has a two year contract with us and plans to leave and work as a bookkeeper for her new finance she met here in Canada.

She will only be 1 and 1/2 years into her contract when she plans to leave.

Questions

1) Can she work as bookkeeper when her visa is for her to be a live in caregiver?

2) Do we have to do something to remove us as her sponsor for the visa?

We are not happy with the sitation and we understand that she wants to start a new life, we are in a tough position now as it takes 6 months to get a new live in care giver. Do we have anything to help support us in retaining her services until we can get a replacement?
