It looks like finally the Ontario government will launch their own PNP program. See http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2007/01/19/tor-immigrants.html

Interesting. Although it surprised me that the "skill" mentioned in the article as an example of what´s in demand in Ontario is midwidery. Makes me want to go to midwifery school to accumulate enough points for the education section of the qualification.

But seriously, the article does show that the federal process is becoming unreasonably long and tedious.

Google Auditor General Perport Immigration 2000 and read exhinit 3.10 and 3.6 and you will see 80% of completeion of all visa post SW applicants took 13 months while now a decade later its 63 months. 500% increase in processing times not unreasonable

Not sure what your saying - 500% increase of the 80% category from 10 years ago not unreasonable? Unless you´re making the point. Interesting that it was only 13 months then. What happened to cause the increase?

My Husband is also a Truck Driver , and we have been trying to Emmigrate for 8 years. To Ontario. I wonder if Truckers are going to be lucky to get on the PNP Program. Like they are in other provinces. If you have Family in Ontario, why should you have to go to another part of Canada to become a Truck Driver!!!!!!

Does anybody have any news on the PNP yet for Ontario. As i thought by now the program whould be up and running.
I am still hoping that the Truckers get a chance to apply for the PNP. As there is a shortage of them in Ontario.
But i expect it will be other skill that they will want instead. And us poor Trukers wifes will never get to live in such a Fantastic place like Canada. And be able to give our skills to Canada,as most of us work and could have the skills Canada needs as well as our Husbands.
