Registered mail (in reply to: How to track FBI Fingerprinting Progress?)
When you mail your application for request of FBI clearance report, mail it with registered mail. You will get tracking number and that way you can check whether they got or not and when. You can also send them prepaid envelope with tracking number so when they mail you your results you will know when they mail it. To my knowledge, your application for FBI clearance report does not have any kind of ID number or anything like that, so all you got to do is wait for it.

You can call the FBI in Clarksburg to check. Once the mail is opened, your name is entered into a computer log so the card´s receipt date and sending dates are tracked.

The clerks there are helpful.

Like Ron said the clerks, are really helpful.
This is what you want to do:
Currently (as of mid Oct) their timeline was 8 weeks.
When I called to check the timeline, I was told if I had a specific deadline they would try to meet it.

Once I confirmed receipt of request via my fed-ex tracking #on Nov 6, I emailed then FBI with my prepaid courier # and let them know I was trying to get my residency by the end of the year and asked if I could have my clearance by Dec 6.

If you can believe it, I got my clearances on Nov 14 and they were on to Buffalo on the 15th!

Here is the customer service info for the FBI 304-625-5590 or email mih@leo.gov.

I just wish the Canadian Consulate would have a customer service # or email where you can actually get some service.

Good luck to you!!

Progess on submitted prints (in reply to: How to track FBI Fingerprinting Progress?)
Dear Friends, My wife (Florence) I were finger printed by the St Lucie Sherif Dept on Nov. 30th 2005 - The Order was DC0000000Z CJIS - WVV - SCU -D2 ; CLARKSBRUG WV. The insurance company ( Guide One Insurance Co - 1111 Ashworth Rd.; Des Moines Iowa 50256 ) is requesting background checks for staff members of the South Beach Baptist Church 1717 Gulfstream Ave., Fort Pierce, FL. 34949 As of this date the Ins. Co. has not received any results about our prints. Others on the church staff have received varification of their prints being checked out. We were told that if the ins. co. didn´t have all the checks completed soon, the premiums for the libality insurance on the church property would be increased if all the staff could not be checked out. The increase would be deducted from our income. Sincerely, Bob & Florence mcCarren
