Subject: time period after interview in NYC |

Hello Everyone:
I recently discovered this site and wish I had done this a year ago. It´s a great site and many wonderful people are helping others.
I applied ( under skilled worker program) in September 2005. And my file was transferred from Buffalo to NYC in November 2006. This month, I gave interview in the consulate office in NYC. The Interviewer was very nice and looked at everything( I was missing the IELTS test which was asked of me, although I send out a statement about my proficiency in English before). At the end of the interview, I was told that I will have to do Medical and do a new FBI clearance, since the one I send with the application is over a year old.
Can someone answer the following, please:
1. How and when do I know about a decision about my application?
2. If my application is approved, and I get a passport request letter (after I send them the medical and FBI clearance), can I go and stamp \ attach Visa in the passport, the same day from the NYC consulate?
Really appreciate any input on the above.

(in reply to: time period after interview in NYC) same thing here. only I´ve done interview in LA. didn´t you have to bring the recent FBI clearance along with you to the interview? I did. hopefully I don´t have to renew another FBI until the visa is granted. I´m waiting to do the medical. hope it won´t take too long.
good luck & happy sunday.

time period after interview in NYC (in reply to: time period after interview in NYC) Thanks Frankie.
I didn´t know that I should take a FBI clearance. Now, I am waiting for the fingerprint result to come in. I will mail it to the consulate after I get it. Also, I received the Medical Forms by mail after the interview and gave the exam.
However, I am still not sure of what to make of asking me to send the new fingerprint and the medicals at the end of the interview.

can I do the FBI fingerprinting (in reply to: time period after interview in NYC) Manu, if you are in the USA, go to a police precinct or to a private fingerprinting institution, where they will give you a fingerprint card, which you sent to FBI with a $18 money order. You get it back after 2\3 months in your adress.
Check CIC website for more info.
