| Subject: Processing times for parents sponsorship |
I am sponsoring my parents from my country and I mailed the documents to Immigration on january 2004.
Can you tell me approximately how long will it take for sponsorship processing ?

where ever your parents are it takes 5 years for the process time.

Michelle, U r wrong how can U say smth. like 5 years not even knowing the processing time. Spiderardi go to goverment site www.cic.gc.ca and check processing time. I sent an application to sponsor my parents 15 month ago and I didn´t get anything yet.

I am in Ottawa and have applied to bring my Disabled WWII veteran father to Canada. Like others I am frustrated. He has a good pension and will live with us - so he will not be any burden on Canada. I have only just found out about your group and your petition, not only would I like to sign the petition, but I would work to get others to sign too. is there a sheet I could obtain to do this. I would like to sponsor my mother who is 68 years old I found out that the processing times in Canada is 20 months I would like to know how long will she wait the processing time in Manila. Do you think altogether will takes one year.?

I applied to sponsor my family (dad.mom,2brothers &1sister) july 2002. since then one of the brothers has to be dropped 6 months ago coz he is 22 now. just recently we got the medicals and still waiting. I know that for CIC in London it takes 3-4years for the time they receive the file in London. this what Ottawa told my MP.

HELLO EVERYBODY,
I FULLY, TOTALLY UNDERSTAND HOW FRUSTRATING AND DEPPRESSING IT IS TO SPONSOR AND BE UNITED WITH OUR DEAR PARENTS.
TO CUT SHORT MY LONG STORY, MY APPLICATION WAS APPROVED NOV 2002. BUT WAS SUBSIQUENTLY DENIED BECAUSE I GOT MARRIED. THEY COUNTED MY HUSBAND AS MY DEPENDED BUT WOULD NOT RECOGNIZED HIS INCOME AS PART OF THE TOTAL INCOME. I ENDED UP HAVING A SHORT OF CAN$600.00 FOR THE REQUIRED MINIMUM INCOME. I FILLED MY APPEAL WITH THE IMMIGRATION APPEAL DIVISION LAST JULY 2004 AND FINALLY GOT THE HEARING LAST AUGUST, 2005. THE IAD RULED TO CONTINUE PROCESSING THE APPLICATION BECAUSE ME AND MY HUSBAND GOT SUFFICIENT INCOME TO COMPLY WITH THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. UNITL NOW WE ARE STILL WAITING. DOES ANYONE OF YOU GOT ANY IDEA HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE CIC WOULD DO ANYTHING AFTER IAD GIVE A RULING TO CONTINUE THE PROCESSING????
