I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer for me. I am a British Citizen, who is living in Canada with my wife. I came to Canada on a student visa, which expired a few months ago. My wife and I were thinking about her sponsoring me...but I heard something about the sponsoring spouse having to have a certain income. Is this true, as I haven´t found anything about it. Would it be possible for my mother in law to sponsor me, as she would reach the financial requirements?
We have talked about the Humanitarian & Compassionate visa, but it´s expensive and from what I´ve heard, there isn´t much chance of being approved. I can´t apply for a skilled work visa as my job doesn´t qualify and the provincial nomination program isn´t applicable either. So, is there any hope for me, or am I completely screwed?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

(in reply to: Re: What visa to apply for!) If your wife is a Canadian Citizen, you may apply as a family class member.
She doesn´t have to meet any financial requeriment.
