Subject: Applied but did a mistake!!!!!
  Guys

I sent my application for permenant residence alng with processing fees bank draft to Canadian Immigration UK office last week and according to DHL , it is delevered also... but ooopssss i dod a mistake.
Actually i am currectly permenant resident of Kuwait and hold valid Kuwait residency till 2008( i have sent copy of it along with my application too) , but i did not see the defination of "permenant resident" properly. It says that UK office will process those permenant residents who entered their country ( in my case , kuwait ) lawfully , atleast one year ago.. Now problem is that , i entered kuwait on entry visa on 27 April so according to this defination , it seems that i should apply to UK office on or after 27 April 2007...

So what should hapen next, Will CIC consider my application holding it up to April or simply sent it back to me right now( saying that u should apply after 27 April 2007)??

Any ideas ???

Polani,

Where did you see that about the UK office processing only applications of people who entered "at least one year ago"? Are you sure it doesn´t say that it processes applications of people who were "lawfully admitted" for at least one year?

The difference is that, given that what I say is true, once you are lawfully admitted into a country for at least one year, you can even file your application on the very same day you enter that country and you do not have to wait one year to file!

Bottom line is: You are OK!

Good Luck!

Yes, you´re okay. I think you´re misreading this - you don´t have to been living there for one year, you only have to have been legally admitted to stay for at least one year.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/offices/apply-where.html
"Applicants for Permanent Residence
You must apply in your country of residence, your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year."

Will it take my processing time longer if application was updated due to marriage (in reply to: Applied but did a mistake!!!!!)
Hi!

Just like to ask an advises and insights on my current situation. I have already launched my application last 2003 and had my file number on the same year. And I am still awaiting for the next notice from the embassy since then.

When I launched my application during that time, I was still single. However, I got married last quarter of 2006. I have already sent a letter to Canadian Embassy here in Manila requesting to update my marital status.

I just like to know if this action I have made (i.e. updating may maritals status and application)would cause my waiting time to be longer? Will my processing time be affected and will be back to zero again?

Please advise because many of my friends are telling me this. Hope someone would shed some light for me on this matter.

Thanks.....
