While requesting the fingerprinting blank form from the FBI office, do I need to attach the 18$ fee or it is free. Please clarify.

(in reply to: Fimgerprinting form) You definitely need to attach the fees in the form of money order/cashier´s check or banker´s check .....whateever..but it has to be pre paid....

(in reply to: Fimgerprinting form) No you do not need to send the money when you are requesting the blank FBI fingerprint card.
Just a suggestion check for private fingerprinting agencies in your area. They have the card and will take your fingerprints for $15 to $20 on an average. This will save you a lot of time.

sorry....the second Anonymous response (in reply to: Fimgerprinting form) Sorry for advising to send money...if you are only ordering blank form, the fees of $18 may not be applicable. You send that only when you send it after completing the finger printing on it.....
If you live in US, I suggest to go to Mailbox Etc. ( now called "UPS store") and they have these forms and kit available and for marginal fees, they can complete it (taking finger prints part)right in their store for you.

Fimgerprinting form (in reply to: Fimgerprinting form) I am in US and went to local Police Station in Michigan for finger printing. They used forms with them(I do not know what they charge)then I send this to FBI for arrest record. FBI sent this back stating that prints are not readable. And they sent a Finger Print Card too. Went back to same police station got it finger printed..sent to FBI and okeyed this time. I noticed one difference between Police station´s(PS) card and FBI card that the ink (not for finger printing but for other information) used in PS´s card was blue and that of FBI was black. I guess due to this bluish shad, FBI might have some problem scanning in their machines first time. Do send $18 with your finger printed card. FBI will not accept personal check. Mine was returned back because I sent personal check. Meaning my finger printing was okeyed after two shots.

(in reply to: Fimgerprinting form) I agree with Kenny. In Toronto, I used a fingerprinting company that was very familiar with the immigration fingerprinting process. I saved about a week and a half by not waiting for a FBI finger print card....
Here´s some additional information that may help you expidite your clearances as I posted in another thread....
This is what you want to do:
Currently (as of mid Oct) their timeline was 8 weeks.
When I called to check the timeline, I was told if I had a specific deadline they would try to meet it.
Once I confirmed receipt of request via my fed-ex tracking #on Nov 6, I emailed then FBI with my prepaid courier # and let them know I was trying to get my residency by the end of the year and asked if I could have my clearance by Dec 6.
If you can believe it, I got my clearances on Nov 15 and they were on to Buffalo on the 16th!
Here is the customer service info for the FBI 304-625-5590 or email mih@leo.gov.
