I have applied for Canadian immigration under skilled worker category at Buffalo,USA in Nov 2004. The normal processing time in USA is around 2-2 1/2 years. Also, I intend to sponsor my parents to Canada, as soon as possible. Usually, it is mentioned, that you need to have a substantial income in Canada, before you can sponsor anybody. Which actually means that you have to work in Canada for 1 year and should have filed your returns showing substantial income, before you can file for anybody´s sponsorship. Will it help me to look for Canadian jobs while I am waiting for my immigration, start working in Canada , pay taxes there. Thus, by the time I would get my immigration approved, I would have already worked in canada, have a substantial income in canada and paid my taxes , thereby would be able to sponsor my parents immediately without waiting for a year. Will is be possible to implement this and save some time..
Thanks in advance for your help.
Luv,
Nitya.

(in reply to: Sponsoring parents) You cannot work in Canada without a work permit or your Permanent Residence. To obtain a work permit an employer must prove that there are not Canadians available to take the job. It is not an easy process. It is a long wait, I know and then there will be an additional wait once you have made your sponsorship application for your parents. I know this is not good new. sorry.

Answer (in reply to: Sponsoring parents) Check website:

I remember I sent Original of my tax return for last year. (not copy). I call to some place and they sent my Original or my tax return.
