Subject: skilled worker in Canada?
Do I have to qualify as a skilled worker if I already have a legitimate job offer in Canada?

Does anyone know if I have a job offer in Canada if that is all I need in order to go to Canada? I am asking because I want to know if that is all I need to be able to bring all my tools with me in my truck across the border.
Thanks

Steve,

Having a legitimate job offer in Canada CAN HELP if you have the intention to file an application for Canadian permanent residence as a skilled worker, BUT it is not a requirement.

It is a requirement if you are looking for a temporary work permit.

Do you need to qualify as a skilled worker before you start working in Canada? YES!
And if you do not enter Canada as a permanent resident, then you certainly need a work permit in order to legally work. It is not as simple as packing your tools into the truck and simply crossing the border to do a job. I would have done it many times over again if it were that simple!

If you are looking for a temporary work permit, visit this link:

If you look to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker, then visit this one:

Either way, good luck!
