Subject: GOT COPR-a couple of URGENT QUESTIONS
Hey Uniden/BILL and others...thanks for the help so far...so i flew to hong kong...just in time and got my COPR...now my deadline is the 2nd of march before the landing visa expires...and i fly in on the 28th feb late night...as long as i fly in before 2nd of march i should be fine right???...

also i plan to come back out of canada within a few days...as i have to rejoin work...now i do know this has been discussed to a length...but whats the consequence?...i do have a brother in canada who resides in toronto..so the canadian address for my PR isnt a problem...and when he gets the PR he can FEDEX it to me...so tehcnically it should be ok right...because the next time i enter canada i need a PR card to enter...correct?

Also if i am going to be staying in canada for a couple of days only...does it make sense to apply for a SIN...as i am not going to be taking up employment anytime in this year?

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!...
AMEET

Deed,

You should apply for your SIN card after you land. Even if you aren´t working, you are going to need a SIN number in order to do your taxes and some other beneficts if you are going to live in Canada.

Your brother may mail the PR to you, but even if you don´t have it and you need to come back, you may apply for a temporary travel document to enter Canada.

You would have to apply for it from abroad and pay the proper fees though.

You can fly on the 28th, make sure that you won´t have any delays (4 days or so) on your way to the Great White North.

Have a good trip.

Welcome to Canada!

And leaving Canada after you land is not a problem, as long as you plan to come back within 3 years to stay. In order to preserve PR status you must live in Canada for two years out of every five year period. I think having your brother FedEx your PR card when it´s received is a good idea.

Hi,

I am from India and I have received my CPR. I am looking forward to move to Canada in April, May for PR and furhter stay over there. I have couple of questions, it will be great if you can reply back:
1- How much time does it takes to get the PR?
2- How much time it takes for get SIN, health and driving lic.
3- I may be returning back to India after recv´ing the PR and then go back after an year or so, i guess its possible.
4- How is the job market for a telecom background and which is the good city to move in?
5- How much will be the room rent and how can I get that?
6- It will be great if you can help in letting me know the process of what all has to be done once I land there. What all forms and other formalities I need to take care off.

Thanks a lot.
