Hi, guys,
I will move to Vancouver from US. I have a couple of questions about currency exchange.
1) For closing my US checking account, is it better to draw a traveller check or withdraw in cash?
2) I need some Cash in Canada before i have bank check book. What is the best way to exchange US dollar to Canadian dollar. Which bank or financial services charge less fee?

Suggestions :
1.Use your VISA/MC card in any ATM that will have very less charges.
2.Make cashier check and put into Canadian Bank.
Do not close your US account keep something you may need in future for tax or anything.If your account have any minimum balance req then change account type.

Well>> why do you want to move to Vancouver being from America??? Vancouver is a clean City but the weather sucks most part od the year, it is also full of wanna-bes and unfriendly people( call me bitter if you want but you will soon realize how uptight people can be( talking in general terms). Anyways welcome to the LA of Canada( though it is not as exciting and big as LA is, but is not as dangerous and polluted either).
