Subject: IMM1344EA Form, Section C question
I´m a Canadian Citizen working in MI,
United States. My 2 kids were born in Michigan and they are US citizens and defacto Canadian Citizens(Thru my Citizenship status). My wife is an Indian citizen and I´m in the process of starting my wife´s immigration process. In the IMM1344EA, , Section C , do i have to
include my kids as accompanying dependant children or non-accompanying
dependant children(Since they are Canadian Citizens already).? Please
advise! I will appreciate your feedback.

Just two thoughts:

1) I believe the question only pertains to whether your children (as dependents) will ACCOMPANY or will NOT ACCOMPANY. This is how to determine if you list them or not.

2) Be ready to prove that your children are Canadian citizens.

It has nothing to do with whether the children (as dependents) will accompany or not accompany. It has everything to do with whether the children are also being sponsored for PR. As dual Canadian citizens they DO NOT need to be sponsored for PR. The applicant includes them as "Additional Family Members" on Form IMM5406, and you would include them on your sponsorship application in several places.

I have learned something new today! :)

Looking at this posting I can´t help to wonder how one proves that a child also has Canadian citizenship because it was born to a Canadian parent abroad. Is it something that must be taken care ahead of time by visiting Canadian embassy abroad, or you just show up at the border and say "I am Canadian, this is my child, born in the US, he is also Canadian"..

When a kid is born to a Canadian parent outside Canada, the kid is a defacto Canadian citizen. I experienced a similar situation. I crossed the Canadian border and I told that my US born kid is a Canadian as I´m a Canadian parent. But I was told to get a Citizenship certificate for my kid even though the CBP officer knew that my Kid is Canadian as he has to follow the procedure. However, this may be the intrepretation of that particular officer. Now my kids are in the process of getting their Canadian Citizenship Certificate.
