Thanks Roy so much for your reply.
In thier letter asking for the police certificate, Buffalo office said that they will not accept check based on name only.
So do you think that I can still do the name based check ? and where I can do it (I am living in Montreal) ?

Why would you do it if Buffalo has already confirmed NOT to accept a name only check? Do it right WITH fingerprints!

I am trying to do this because the skin condition of two fingers is not good and the computer did not accept it. I did it by ink but it was not clear either so Roy suggested that I do name check.
Do you have any other suggestions ? Time is going and I don´t know what to do. I tried medicines but the condition is not improving fast enough.

Wedad,
Maybe calling CIC would give you more clarification. If you describe your skin condition maybe you can move your deadline to a later time when your skin improves and you will be able to be fingerprinted. I am sure CIC will understand.
What I would NOT do, is to get the name-only check, knowing that they will reject it anyway.. But again, maybe Roy knows of better ways. I trust him.

Did you do a check before arriving in Canada. Nmae checks alone will not suffice but there is nothing lost in doing two fingerprint checks from different locations in Montreal.
Like everything some do a better job then others. Get two different companies to take your prints if one works great. Nothing lost in buying time with a name search it only costs $30.00 in Ontario and some Police departments will do it in ten minutes.
