Hello all, my family and I are thinking about the possibility of Moving to Canada from Madrid. I am Italian and my wife Mexican. I am an IT team leader for a very big computer company. I am in my mid twenties and DO NOT have a university degree, though I have a few years of experience and speak 3 languages, would this help in any way or should I just forget about the idea to go as a skilled worker?. And if so, what would be the first step?. My wife only needs her thesis to graduate, and I understand Mexico has agreements with Canada, would that be an option too?, my company has offices all around Canada, would it help to do internal job hunts?. Thank you all for the help.

(in reply to: Thinking about moving, clueless on steps to take) Andre,
If you are able to secure a job in Canada, you can enter on work permit.
..but if you are applying under the federal skilled worker category, then go first to see if you can gather the needed points (67) to qualify:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html
Not having post-secondary education means that you do not get some 20 points, which could diminish your chances to succeed in getting the PR application approved.
Your wife could get these points upon graduation, ..but she doesn´t have any work experience.
If I were you, I would check how many points both of you get. The one that gets the most points should be the principal applicant.
If neither of you get the needed 67 points, then look on how to improve your points.
Good Luck!
