I´m from Philippines and still waiting for my FBI clearance.2 months had passed and still don´t receive it. I´m planning to stay in Vancouver but I don´t have any relatives there. I don´t know where to stay. Is there anyone out there who could help me find a cheapest place to stay? Any recommendations from those who landed without any relatives in Vancouver?

(in reply to: Vancouver inquiries) questions for you...
1) are you looking for somewhere to stay temporarily
2) what is your idea of ´cheap´
3) does it need to be near transit
4) does it need to be in a safe place - cheapest places to live are in an area of town I would never send my dog!
by most peoples standards, there is nothing cheap in Vancouver so you will need to be more specific

(in reply to: Vancouver inquiries) Thanks Sharon for your reply. I mean the cheapest but safe and where public transportation is accessible. I´m thinking of renting a room with a family with extra room to spare.Just temporarily while looking for a job there.

(in reply to: Vancouver inquiries) short term room rentals is not something I am familiar with. Basement suites range from 6-900 a month but would likely require a month by month commitment.
perhaps someone else has some ideas. Perhaps the Sunny Newcomers Service in Toronto knows of similar programs in Vancouver that I am not aware of.
good luck
