Subject: Obtaining trade qualifications in Canada |

Hi,
I recently attended an emmigration day at Sandown in Surrey. I spoke to a visa consultant for British Columbia who advised me that the plumbing qualifications I am currently working for in the UK are not going to be recognised in Canada. It was suggested that I apply for a plumbing course in Canada which is a 24 week intensive course that would guarantee residency and a job placement on completion. I believe that you can stay and study for up to 6 months without a visa but can only find a course from BCIT that lasts for 37 weeks.
What do I need to do if I apply for the 37 week course ?
Is what the visa consultant said indeed correct ?
Does anyone have any suggestions please ?
Many thanks

(in reply to: Obtaining trade qualifications in Canada) You need to as BCIT, but basically, you need a study permit (it´ll be on CIC´s website AND BCIT´s). As an international student is it not going to be extremely expensive, especially given that is in Canada´s most expensive city?!

plumbing apprenticeship (in reply to: Obtaining trade qualifications in Canada) You may also do a level 1 at the UAPICBC school which is only 6 weeks long. Look at the website
