All my documents are ready except for police clearance from Saudi Arabia, where I lived for a little over 6 months after my 18th birthday. I have had no luck trying to extract the PCC from here in USA or back in Saudi Arabia. If I wait further, my other police clearances are going to loose there validity. I will be applying to the buffallo office. Please advice if I should go ahead and send in the application.

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) Buffalo accepts police certificates if it was done in the previous six months.

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) Be careful before you spread wrong information, Hamada.
According to "Application for Permanent Residence - Federal Skilled Worker Class" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf), Page 16:
"You and your family members must provide us with a police certificate issued by the authorities of each country in which you have lived for six (6) months or more since reaching the age of 18. Certificates must be originals and issued within the last three months."

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) Hello Uniden
I am talking from personal information my friend (we will continue to be freinds despite saying facts). I submitted a police certificate which was made 4 MONTHS before submission and it was accepted by Buffalo office. Another friend of mine did it with 5 months and also accepted. The information in the guides is not necessarily correct all the time.
Regards

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) I know, I know.. Stuff happens.. But I wouldn´t encourage anybody anything else than to stick to the rules, because if you don´t.. it may turn against you. CIC is still the immigration God, remember?!?
I gave you the facts and only facts, I am not a guessing person, I guess you should know this by now.
Ooops, did I just say "I guess"?!? :)
Of course we are friends! :)
I don´t have any enemies! I killed them all! :)

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) You know what I did,
I had a police certificate about 4 months old, I requested a new one (it takes about one month to be ready) so I submitted the old one and said if Buffalo refused the old one by the time they reply I should receive the new one and if they accepted it, I saved time and lost only the cost of the new one. Surprisengly they accepted the 4 months old one and sent me a file number. So for our friend if his documents are about to expire he can send the old ones and request new ones as I did.
Regards.

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) You can submit police certificates older than 3 months but in that case you should attach proof that you have not visited the country since the certificates were issued. This I am quoting from a presentation by an Detroit immigration officer.

(in reply to: waiting for police clearance.. other docs expiring) Jowan,
Contact someone in your country and try to get a police clearance. Or Meet with the Syrian embassy officials in the country you are residing and request them to issue a police clearance for you and your wife. The Indian embassy issues police certificates to Indians. So, it is very likely the Syrian Embassy also does. If nothing works, I am afraid you have to go to Syria and get it. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THE CANADIAN IMMIGRATION OFFICE DOES NOT ACCEPT EXCUSES WHY YOU COULDN´T GET A DOCUMENT. THEY NEED THE DOCUMENTS THEY REQUEST.
Good Luck ;)
