Hey good people.I am in Europe,I just want know that for how long can some one with PR card can stay out side Canada?,,Thank you

You have to meet 2 out of 5 years residency requirement to maintain your PR status. You can accumulate residency days even outside of Canada if:
1.you are traveling with a Canadian spouse,parents, etc.
2.job assignments by a Canadian business or government
3.spouse,child of a PR if S/he is outside Canada and falls under 2.

Don´t make the noprmal mistake it is DAYS and 730 of them or as Anonymous has done added 365 X 2 and come up with 2 years. It clearly states days.
Some have started their own companies and then claimed they are working for themselves outside of Canada just make sure that you pay your taxes. See IRPA and the regulations for more details.

I always wanted to voice my opinion on this, but I kept quiet.
CANADIANS ARE WAY TOO GENEROUS!!! (OR TOO DESPERATE?!?)
I wish there was a law in effect to allow Canadian PRs no more than 30 days/year outside Canada until they turn Canadian citizens.
Both me and my wife haven´t seen our families in ten years because, due to our illegal status in the US, we weren´t able to travel outside the United States. We have lost parents, grandparents, cousins and a uncles since we left our contry, without being able to attend funerals. We have changed so much that we need to tell our parents who exactly is "us" in group photos. My own mother would not recognize me otherwise..
We already have a plan to see out parents and "recover" from our US illegal immigrant "ordeal", that we hope will soon come to an end once we get our Canadian PRs. Three weeks we thought would be enough, because we have plenty of priorities, jobs to find, a new life to start. Almost everything is planned, or at least as much as one can plan ahead.
It is not about you Alan, ..but too many people get the Canadian Permanent Residence only as a backup PR, or as a "pre-USA" PR, while others are trying to become REAL Canadians.
