Hi Uniden,
I´m a bit confused with one of your answers to a question.
The question by Sal was about processing time for arranged employment, you mentioned 18-31 months for processing.
My question is, if i have arranged employment surely the employer won´t wait this long for an employee to get approved, also what about seasonal summer work.
I´m sure this is probably a stupid question with an easy answer but any help would be appreicated.
all the best

(in reply to: question for uniden) Jamie,
18-31 months is the processing time as listed by CIC for Buffalo for PR applications filed under the federal skilled worker class.
Look for details here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/02a-skilled-fed.html
I am not familiar with seasonal work permits.
As for the employer not willing to wait for an applicant to get a work permit or a PR visa, that´s another story. That depends on the employer. Some may wait, some may not.
If you already have arranged employment, try to get a work permit. Roy may help with an answer on how to get that. I am familiar only with the federal skilled worker process because I am such an applicant myself. I learn as I go :)
No question is stupid! Remember that one who asks was stupid for only 5 minutes, while the one who doesn´t ask remains stupid for life! :)
Good Luck!
