You will be found (in reply to: to Jamie from kandola)
Thanks to the international agreements that many countries have with their National Insurance Payments you will be linked up between Canada and the UK. For example, when you are 65 you will want to collect your pension and if you have paid into the UK´s National Insurance Scheme for more that 25% of your working life you will be able to collect a small pension. To an extent, they will want to see that you have paid your taxes somewhere....You just can´t avoid this and if you sort it, you will sleep a lot better at night.

about "selecting" Part C (in reply to: to Jamie from kandola)
This is also where we got stuck. We actually travelled to the High Commission in London and they "showed" us on the computer exactly how to get Partt C. What you need to do is select the word West Europe (avoid the word "order form")and you will magically be taken to the Part C area. I think that it is poorly designed on the web and how would a computer know if you are an inside applicant to select the bit to the right and if you are an outside applicant to select the bit to the left. Let me know if my explanation has worked for you or not....I realize that this should be in a different post but I hope that you find it Anne.

Kandola,
If you opened the bank account legally to get the loan then you have left a trail that the bank can easily follow.
In my case the bank looked for me for about a year before they handed my case over to a debt collection agency who in turn handed it over to a debt collection agency in the UK.
When they find you, you also have to pay the agencies fees on top of the original debt and that can double the loan, for so much money the agencies are relentless and in this day and age they can find anyone very easily.
So what i´m saying is when the UK debt collectors find out where you are they will pass the debt over to a Canadian agency who will take up the case.
Kandola i know it´s a lot of money but trust me if you don´t pay the debt it will get a lot more very fast and when the debt collectors get involved there´s no going back to the bank!!
All the best
Jamie
