About a 7 week ago, i received my request for medical to be sent to ottawa and $495 landing fee to be sent to NY. ottawa received my medical on 16th and forwarded their decision to NY on 23 Feb. I had my police clearance done from Canada as i have been living in canada since i was 17. i have a clear record (i hope :-) )
i am wondering if this means i am cleared for immigration. NY does not update ecas and i am very anxious to find out what happened. Do you think i am cleared for immigration?

(in reply to: Anxious) I think yes, you don´t have to worry. All is needed is the background check. If it is done, I think they will request your passport soon. I have some questions for you:
1. When you did the medical and how you know when Ottawa received it and forwarded decision to NY ?
2. you did RCMP fingerprints by ink or electronically and after how long you received the report ?
Thanks so much and let us know your good news.

(in reply to: Anxious) 1) I called ottawa and they gave me the update.
2) I did an electronic one without any fingerprints.
Why would they do a background check, if i have doen that already ie. my point # 2.

(in reply to: Anxious) Hello
In fact the applicant has nothing to do about the background check, it is done only by the visa office dealing with the case (read this: http://www.canadavisa.com/immigration-security-clearance.html).
Do you know how long is the processing time for electronic RCMP fingerprints and what is the phone no. of Ottawa medical ?
Thanks so much
