I was asked by the FBI through email to actually download the Blank fingerprint form from their site and take a printout and then go to the local police station for the finger printing. Could somebody tell me what to do after that. Will the local police station give me back the fingerprinted card right away. And then do I have to send it to FBI with $ 18 ?. Please suggest me the quickest way.

You can go that route...download the form ( and I belive if you call local police station, they might have this card ready and you might have to take an appointment. Tell them that you want it for canada immigration purposes. They may charge soem $10 or $20 for this service. Then you have to mail this card along with the letter you have received from CIC. ANother way is to go to some UPS store (previously mailbox etc.) and get this card completed by them. They have whole kit and can take your printouts professionally....and actually they sign it as well on the card...take your photo IDs wherever you go...both routes are okay....the real delay you will face once you mail them out to the FBI....they are taking long now a days....8 weeks are common...

Hello there,
I think that it would be better for you to get real fingerprinting card. Now, you have to be carefull because they have different cards and you need to make sure to get the correct one. Try calling FBI and they will mail you the whole kit. Tell them that you need fingerprinting card for FBI clerance report that is requested by Canadian immigration.
Another option is to go to Fingerprinting agency in your area and they have these fingerprinting cards available there.
You have to be carefull. If you fingerprints are not good, FBI will return it to you. And then again if you print fingerprinting card on the plain photocopy paper it will not be the same.
