| Subject: Will I lose my PR statues? |
I landed in Canada in March 2004 and have been living in the US visit university. Now I am enrolled in Spring semester that will end in the middle of May. If I go to Canada after that, will I have any trouble? Will I lose my PR statues?

To keep your PR status, you must live in Canada 2 years of every 5 years.

Do you mean that I have already lost my PR and can´t go to Canada anymore? :-(
How do they calculate the 2 years? Based on the entry stamp on your passport?

You have to stay 730 days(=2 years) out of 5 years. You can go back to Canada now. I am assuming that you visited and stayed in Canada during the breaks if not then only way it is possible is if you landed after 13th March 2004.

Hi inorder to fulfilled my 2 years stay in Canada to keep my PR status my deadline is this 6th October 2013 but unfortunately I am the caregiver to my mother will be going thru a hand surgery on the 16th Of October 2013. Her doctor who was supposed to operate on her in the month of Sept has resigned. so her operation has been assigned to another doctor who can only perform the operation on the 16th Oct. If I only can land in Canada end of October 2013 cos she needs two weeks to recover will that affect my PR status? What should I do inorder not to lose my PR status? my husband is already in Canada since July the 7th Both my children has to be with me as I am the caregiver to them. So will they also lose their PR? because of me Please advise I have letters from the doctors in the hospital to certify that I am the main caregiver.
