Subject: Landing Question !!
Me and my family have stamped immigrant visa for cananda through skilled worker which i applied from usa.I am the principal applicant.

We have an expiry date on the visa. However due to few constraint i am unable to go for landing now but would like to send my wife and child for landing and from there they will head to our native country india.I will leave usa and go later just prior to the expiry of the immigrant visa.

Will my wife and child be allowed to land without me since i am the principal applicant.

if we declare items to be brought on landing and later i am unable to bring them what are the repurcussions !!

No NO NO NO
A lot of people make that mistake and results aren´t pretty.

You MUST LAND first or with them if not they will be refuse of entry.

Find the way to make a shor trip even it is just for a few hours you could land in the morning and go back to the US at lunch time.

Bill is correct. You MUST land first or without them; they can land after you, but NOT the other way around.

For your second question: There is nothing wrong with declaring items on your Goods to Follow list and not bringing them. The main idea behind the GTF list is so that Customs has a good idea of what is coming into the country, not so much to keep individual tabs on you. It is better to be safe and list what you think you will bring rather than bring more than you intended and be taxed on them.

Bill and wannabecanadian appreciate yr replies.Thanks.

Both of u seem to be pretty confident abt yr arguments so its best not to take a chance as i feel i had taken this matter casually and was on the verge of booking tickets.

Any further inputs/experience will be appreciated.
