with all respect for your situation -

which spouse on this forum are you going to ask to wait longer for their PR because your mother´s application is more important? Ozz? There is a quota for family class just like all other categories. From what I can see, it is about 25% of all immigration applications.(2002 figures). I know you are passionate about wanting your mother here but you are going to make yourself crazy or ill with your worry. I have significant experience with media and what makes it on to the news - you would be shocked what never sees a TV and what they can do to misrepresent your message. There is nothing about this story that is worth 2 minutes on the national TV - trust me...that is a lot of time for any news item. Most of the folks on this forum are waiting their turn, just like your mother. There are Canadians on this forum waiting for someone they love - just like you. In some cases they are enduring severe economic and emotional hardship because they are separated. Ozz might be very sympathetic to your pain but I doubt if Ozz is willing to give up his spot. Ozz, I apologize if I am putting words in your mouth.

Did you read the article I posted about the stripper which was written by the immigration lawyer? You will see what can happen when a story gets twisted around for political purposes. For all you know, drawing attention to your situation my result in them deciding that the quota should be smaller - after all we are short of skilled workers!

Jenia, you are 5-6 months away from a happy conclusion. I am trying to help you - I know you do not see it this way. Please, try to be patient if you can.

Hello Jenia. I would like to echo your feelings regarding the Canadian Family Class immigration process. I have checked the CIC website everyday to see if the date would change from June 24, 2003. Till today, nothing new. I have called the CIC several times... it is always the same status. I am losing faith in the Canadian immigration process.
Do you know for sure if the Family Class process is really on hold...? What is your source of this information? Also, on the CIC website there is an article stating parts of their department is on strike.(http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/strike-notice.html) Does anyone know how this is affecting the Family sponsorship process?

Sponsoring a parent to Canada (in reply to: Parents Sponsorship Forum (Part 4))
Until today, I believed it was only me who was frustrated with months of waiting for the processing of my mother´s sponsorship. After I checked out this forum I realized how many people are suffering since the Jun 24 2003 date. Does anyone have any idea if the date will change? The processing time has changed from 22-23 months to 23 months.....I´m dying to find what CIC has planned. Additionally, does anyone know of a news regarding the proposal of faster processing time for parents and grandparents?
