Hello Friends,
I am presently in Canada since last one year, as I understand I can apply for Immigration from buffelo now. My assignment here is about to end in June, I will return back to India. Will this effect my immigration application?
Do I need to be in country during the application process period?
Please advise...
Regards,
Akhilesh

(in reply to: Applying immigration from Canada) You did not have to wait for one year. If your work permit at the time of issuance was for one year you could have applied as soon as you entered Canada.

Applying immigration from Canada (in reply to: Applying immigration from Canada) I was not aware of this fact I could apply last year, my workpermit is still valid till end of Jan ´08. But it seems like my assignment will be over by June-July this year. Can I still apply from here and go back home?

(in reply to: Applying immigration from Canada) You can apply. Though, there is a risk that your file may be transferred back to India if they get to know that you have moved back to India. It may or may not happen. You should apply if you have enough points and you do not need to add anything to your file once you leave Canada. This way your file will continue to be processed at Buffalo. Keep a mailing address in Canada.
