Ok, I am officially confused!
I am living with my boyfriend in Germany. I am Canadian and he is Kosovo-Albanian. We have been together almost 8 years, and I have been living here since December 2005. We are getting married in Germany this summer.
Then, we have 2 possibilities:
1. He goes back to Kosovo, and I go back to Canada. Then I begin the sponsorship process.
2. We stay here, and I begin the sponsorship process. he will have to go back to Kosovo anyways to get his visa (strict laws because Kosovo is not a country, and the United Nations currently controls it), and during this time I move back to Canada.
I am confused as to if I apply as inside or outside of Canada?? Is it referring to my location or his? Because in the applying from outside, it states that I have to show proof of going back to Canada. I can not stay living in Germany once his application is approved. So what is the difference? Either way he is not in Canada. Please help! Thanks in advance...

My friend had a very similiar problem, he went to www.officialcanadianimmigration.com, they had alot of information about topics like this. Hope this helps.

Whether you choose inland or overseas depends on where the applicant is. If you are a Canadian citizen, you can sponsor your partner on an overseas application even while you are not living in Canada, but you will have to show proof that you intend to accompany him to Canada after he receives PR. If you intend to come back to Canada anyway, that´s okay, too. You will still sponsor him on an overseas application through the country where he is a resident, the country of his nationality, or the country to which he has been admitted for at least one year.
