Subject: Working Visa Or Permanent???
  Hi Guys,

Just wondering if this is whats going to happen, Im contemplating whether I should apply for permanent (skilled worker) or working visa.

Im looking to apply in approx a years time
(just to make sure I have all documents and everything.) and was wondering what would happen with my permanent application if I moved to canada while it was being processed.

Im just thinking if my PR takes too long to process then I would try and get a job offer in Canada so I can get a working visa.

Would my permanent visa application be cancelled. If i moved to Canada while it was being processed?

Thanks
Thomas

Wondering aloud?

Should I do this or that---I´m looking to apply in about a year after I collect the required documents!

Go to www.cic.gc.ca and look at your Visa Post processing times under quick links main page. You can apply now because the odds are that your Visa Post will not require any documents from you for two to seven years.

Work Permits are much faster but not easy to obtain.

Hi Roy, just trying to understand some of the ins and outs.

But just to answer my question, Will the permanent visa application be cancelled if im in Canada with a working visa?

FYI, its 21 months minimum for my visa office. Im just trying to get an understanding of what I want to do. I still need another year to get the required experience and just want to make sure, I know all the facts.

Thanks for the response.
Thomas

Your permanent resident application will not be canceled if you move to Canada with a working visa.

You will get additional points if you have worked in Canada for one year. FDo your points again and see what you can get with one year work experience in Canada. Understand too that if your employer is satisfied with you and offers you a full time position settlement funds are not a key issue.
