Subject: Re-apply?!!
  Hi Guys!

Hope everyone is doing well.

I received my result late last year 2006 unfortunately I failed, my score was 61 in total I didn´t reached the passing mark. I hired a consultant to help me but I don´t feel that he has been part of my application at all but I lost big amount of money big time!

However, that´s not stop me to pursue for my plan to immigrant in Canada because that´s my dream since I was young. So I´m planning now to re-apply again, do you think I should start from now?!there´s any time frame from the last time you applied?! but this time I will do by myself w/out consultant help but w/ your advices will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance & looking forward to hear from you!

Enjoy your day!

Regards,
Apple

There is no time frame for reapplication. If you qualify for immigration then you can go ahead and start the process.

I have heard that there should be 6 months time frame for you to make new application but i do not see anything like thisd on CIC website.

yes good idea is to apply yourself or use really a service oreinted consultant not money grabbers

I am not sure of your work skills but there are some work permit opportunities that might interest you. Construction trades in particular.

As a skilled worker applicant, there is no point to apply unless you have managed to get to the 68 point mark. All the consultants in the world cannot change the pass mark criteria.

my points assessed.... (in reply to: Re-apply?!!)
Thank you so much for all the feedback!

When the consultant assessed me before my application he assumed that I will reach the passing mark 67 pints.

But for my actual assessed here is the sets out points for each selection criteria, nos. in bracket is the maximum possible points.

Age-10 (10)
Education-20 (25)
First Official Language-10 (16)
Second Official Language-00 (8)
Experience-21 (21)
Arranged Employment-00 (10)
Adaptability-00 (10)

TOTAL Score 61 (100)

So as per my consultant I should get perfect 7 score from my IELTS test, to able to reach 67 points.

Do you think this criteria I should focus on?

Good day all!

Try appearing for IELTS if you score 7 in each band then you can easily qualify as you will get 16 points.

Dearest Apple

Sharon is correct to a point but the blame also has to stick to you as well. Someone can put a super word in with a potential employer but you would still have to wow them at the interview. Nobody is going to give you a job because (TOM) but a good word in for you, or CIC will not approve you if your points are not sufficent even if you have an authorized representative.

Certain people do not do well when taking a test like IELTS but the test itself is not a clear indication of the applicants language ability!!!!!

Language ability is suppose to asses your ability to become established in Canada. PLENTY of applicants can speak, read, Listen and understand at a 9.0 IELTS level in relation to their occupation but obtain a score of 10 like you did.

YOUR COMPUTER SAVY, DON´T PUT ALL THE BLAME ON YOUR CONSULTANT/LAWYER OR WHOM EVER. YOU KNEW------WITH A LANGUAGE RESULT OF 10 THAT WITHOUT YOUR CONSULTANT ASKING FOR SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FROM YOUR VISA POST YOU WOULD FAIL.

I´M SURE YOU PROBABLY PAID IN STAGES AND YOUR CONSULTANT LOST REVENUE BECAUSE YOU REFUSED TO TAKE AN INITIAL OR SECOND IELTS TEST.

It is a rare day when I defend anyone including my competition.

You can do 2 of these 3 things:

1. Retake IELTS and apply after you score 7 or more

2. Marry a graduate and you will get spousal points...

3. If you are already married and your spouse is not a graduate, send her to school and get a Bachelor´s degree.

Good luck ;)
