Subject: Applying for PR - Where to do medical Exam? |

I am a US Citizen preparing to apply for Permanent Resident status in Canada. I will be marrying my partner early next year, and will be moving to live in Canada in January.
I do not know whether I should have the medical exam done in the United States - before I move up to Canada - or if I should wait and have it performed in Canada. The appendix on the application is confusing because I´m not sure where my application will be processed.
A second question on the medical form - my partner and I are not married yet, but we will be while the application is being processed. Do I list my partner as my spouse on the application?

(in reply to: Applying for PR - Where to do medical Exam?) It does not matter where you get the medical done US or Canada as long as it is from a DMP mentioned by CIC.
By the way under which category are you applying???

(in reply to: Applying for PR - Where to do medical Exam?) If you are coming to Canada soon for visit, I would try do your exam in Canada. For me, the cost to have the exam completed in Toronto was $150 Canadian. I researched having it done in the US and the cost was $320 US. Of course, insurance does not cover the exam.
Good luck!

Medical Exam (in reply to: Applying for PR - Where to do medical Exam?) I called a couple of Toronto doctors. The first one quoted me a price of $125! So I´m definitely waiting until I can get up to Canada. Thanks for the tip!
