  Hi Roy,

I am a canadian citizen living in canada. My husband and I own a bakery. We r considering making a partenrship with my sister so that we can expand the business and some reliable workers join us.

The problem is that my sister and family r not canadian citizens nor residans of Canada.

I am not sure what rules apply to this case. Will they be able to enter Canada and what kind of permit they need.

Thanx,
Nunu

NUNU?

Depending on the province and city your business is located your relative could be considered for a PNP application based on purchasing part ownership in your business if they have two years business/management experience out of the last five years.

Read the relevant Businness PNP requirements by going to www.cic.gc.ca clicking on TO IMMIGRATE then PNP then the province where the business is curently now.

Wish you success.

Hi Roy,
could you give me an advice?
I am married to a Canadian citizen, and would like to get landed visa and stay with him.
Do you think it´s better for me to apply from my country or from Canada, in terms of time?
Could I apply from my country and still be in Canada with him as a visitor?

Thank you in advance.
Mea

It depends on the processing time for your Visa Post. Always add six months to the processing times CIC posts just so when you reach the 80% limit your not a basket case.

Not knowing your Visa Post the answer has to be like this. Havana states 4-12 moinths with 50% of cases completed in SEVEN months. Every single client I have with a partner in Cuba gets a letter stating the Visa Post will not respond within one year from the date that they receive the file. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/05-fc-spouses.html

If your partner is in a country that has to use Port of Spain, Trinidad consider your lucky to get them in under a year more likely 1 1/2 years if your lucky.

Now In Land Spousal applications needs extra work. Get your partner to describe your residence to a third party from the time he/she walks in the front door. Record him or video him DO THE SAME and you will be SHOCKED what he mentions and what he leaves out.

That is a normal question at the interviews.

Your partner will probably not be landed for a year and a half and will not be able to travel in that time either. Hopefully all of his family are in good health and no emergencies arise.

The answer depends on your personal circumstances.

in land - out (in reply to: to Roy)
Roy,
thank you for your response.

The processing office for me would be in vienna.
Is it true that the process would last for 2-5 months compared to year and half In Land application?

Another question I have is:
What is the time considered for the begining of the process: the day the office in Vegerville gets my epplication by mail, or the day they open the mail and start processing?

Thank you.

To Roy : partnership in canada (in reply to: to Roy)
Thank u Roy for ur reply.

I heard about u from a friend of mine who also told me about this forum.

I understand that I need to give more information and clarify my question.

My husband and I live in Calgary AB. PNP in Alberta is for people employed in Alberta not for buisness partners.

Anyways, applying for immigration will be a second step. First we want them to get into Canada.

My sister and her family memebrs are Iraqis living in Iraq. Iraqis need some kind of Visa to enter Canada and usually it is not easy to get.

As I explained, we want to expand our Bakery and for this purpose, we need more money and labour. From our experience, getting reliable employees is extremely hard and we may lose them at any point of time. So, we thought of getting a partner which will also fulfill both requirements (money and labour).

In conclusion, we agreed with my sister to be this partner. However, we don´t know if this is permitted according to Canadian rules. Also, if it is, what kind of visa they need to enter Canada. Is it a work permit? I talked to people in canada immigration and they seem not quite sure. I send an email to the Canadian Embassy in Damascus but I did not get a reply. So, my friend suggested I ask u.

Plz let me know if u need more information.

thnks,
nunu
