I have just submitted my papers so it is all fresh in my mind and I can say, as a fresh applicant (not as a professional) that according to the rules for skilled worker a certified letter from the bank IS ACCEPTABLE for proof of funds, what you describe looks like a certifed letter so it should be ok.

Make sure that the funds are in accordence with the number of family members.
A 3 member family has to have n amount of $ and a 4 member family has to have n $.
