Subject: Medical is requested, but not police clearance
I am sending it again, cause you might mix up my name with other sharon, My name is Shanon

Hello all,

I have received a package, which contains the requisite documents for the continued processing of my application. It stated that they completed the initial assessment and expects to finalize my application without a personal interview. They asked me to complete the medical examination and make payment for RPRF (Right of permanent Residence Fee), but they did not ask anything about police clearance or any other documents. Is it possible? I?ve been living here in Canada for the last 5 years.

However, under the ?Additional Documents required? section of the cover letter, it makes mention of an ?enclosed list? which I have not received. Is there a case where they forgot to attach documents that they supposed to??

I have received a total of 4 pages, which are indicated as follows:

Page #1: Cover letter (page that has my name, address and file number with instructions).
Page #2: Letter about medical examination (designated medical practitioner location information and where all examination reports should be sent, etc).
Page #3: Information for Physicians and Radiographers.
Page #4: Medical Report Section A, Client Identification Summary.

I am really worried that they might forget to attach the list.
What can I do? Please advise!

By the way my application is in Buffalo.

Hi Shanon,

All the paperwork was fine. There wasn´t anything missing, so they didn´t ask you for anything else. They ususally dont ask for Police Clearence. May be later. Do the medical ASAP and send them the Fee with that cover letter that they have sent. Seat back and relax. No news is always good news. :-)

Ioana,

I am not sure whether they will make a decision without having police clearance, but some people said that depends on whatever the person was doing during the period that he/she stayed in Canada; sometimes immigration officer make a decision without having police clearance.
Although I think it is not reliable info.

However, I am thinking of sending the police clearance (finger print) whether they asked me or not.

What about you? when did you send your medical and other docs? How long you´ve been waiting?
I sent my medical 2 weeks ago, and sent them a letter mentioning about police clearance. Hopefully they will respond me soon.

Hi Shanon,
sorry, wasn´t on the forum for a while...
I think it´s true that they can finish the background check without police clearance, caus´ I received a letter from buffalo on the 10th of december, saying that the medicals and security check are finished, but they needed the 975$ fee to complete the application. So I sent it to them, on the 13th and I think I´ll just have to wait now, for whatever...
They received my application in Buffalo on june 28, 2004
Asked for my medicals, and docs from my school, degrees etc.. on August 23, 2004
Did the medical on 20 sept.
received the letter asking for the 975 $ on 10th december.
Let´s keep in touch to see what´s happening to one another ok?
