Subject: Validity of PR card when staying outside Canada |

|
Hello All:
I just got my PR card this month. I work at Toronto (I was working in Toronto even before I got the PR with a work permit for 1 year. Before that I was a student in Canada for 2 years).
But I am planning to go to the US and work there for 2-3 years, and come back to Canada and settle here. I want to know if there would be any immigration problems when I return to Canada in about 2-3 years i.e., will my PR card be still valid?
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question.
Raja

(in reply to: Validity of PR card when staying outside Canada) Hi Raja.
In order to keep your status as a permanent resident, you must live in Canada for at least two years of every five year period. Check the following link:

Good luck.
