One of my friend has asked me if she can take the medicals before she is requested to do so (anticipating that she will hear from the visa office in Buffalo soon). She has been waiting for 6 months since the AOR and she thinks she may become pregnant so she wants to do the medicals before to avoid extra possible delays.
Since the list of doctors is available online, she is thinking to contact them and do it. She asked me if she can do that.
I HAVE NO IDEA so I am asking you, anyone knows ?

No. You have to wait for the medical forms sent from the consulate to give to the doctor. I suppose you could have the test and then deliver the medical forms later for the doctor to fill out and send, but the timeline wait would be the same, not any faster, and might cause more confusion than it´s worth.

She can do the medicals in advance but they may become invalid before the completion of her immigrations process as the validity is only 1 year. IA times are 12-13 months these days from Buffalo.

Anon may be correct. But I´m not sure you can count one year validity from a medical exam done before completion of the associated forms and approval by Canada Health. As CBV says, I would advise her to simply wait for the proper forms with instructions, and follow the process.
