Anyone with info on the Healthcare industry jobs? I mean Healthcare Business Development. I know HC is mostly govt. business but would appreciate any insight in being able to find jobs here. FYI, I am working as a Project Coordinator for a major HC player in Kuwait and have a Master´s in Health Admin. from USA.
TIA

(in reply to: Any information on Healthcare Market?!) Same field and experience for me, although from an IT perspective. Try checking each provincial government´s health insurance website for opportuninites. They all have a "careers" or "jobs" link that lists current openings. As you must know, there really is no private health care industry in Canada, since under the Health Care Act, that is forbidden.

(in reply to: Any information on Healthcare Market?!) Could you please share your experience in finding a job if you are already working in Canada?
TY

(in reply to: Any information on Healthcare Market?!) Yes, sure. I posted my resume on workopolis.com and made it available to perspective employers in my field. Next, I checked workopolis.com for job postings in my field and in my city on a regular basis. If I saw one that matched, I applied online, which then electronically attached my resume with my application.
So far I´ve had a management job offer in my field with a large bank in Montreal, but I declined. I didn´t want to relocate from the smaller city where I settled in Canada, and face the astronomical housing prices in Toronto. At some point, I´ll probably have to be less picky and more willing to move, but for now I´m still looking for a position in my locale with reasobale housing costs.
Hope that helped a bit in planning your move and job search.

(in reply to: Any information on Healthcare Market?!) Oh! Thank you Roy! I just came to this post after a few days. I sent my passports to Canadian Embassy for Visa stamping. I am planning to land in September 2007. I am most likely NOC 4165 as I am a Project Coordinator and not a Manager yet. But I am planning to take the PMP test offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
