Hi all.
I have applied to the Vienna office for PR immigration in Federal Skilled Worker category. I applied under the simplified process (September 2006).
I received AOR very soon after that, Sep 15th 2006. I have not heard anything since.
I believe the next step would be to receive a letter saying my application is ready to be processed and to send the documents requested in that letter.
If I have changed my mind and want to withdraw the application and receive a full refund for the processing fee (the 550 CAD), when is the last deadline to do this? Is it before they send me the letter requesting the documents?
Or for example, even if they send me the letter requesting the documents, as a reply instead of sending documents if I send them a letter saying I want to withdraw the application, do they still give me the refund?

If you changed your mind you can send a letter to ask for withdrawing your application just prior to the assessment. They said so in the AOR email and this kind of inquiries will be the only to be answered by the visa office.

Thanks for your help. I still think it´s a bit confusing what the exact cut-off time is, what do they consider as start of the assessment, is it the moment of receiving the documents from you (without your documents what are they going to assess, based on what???).
The FAQ says "until we contact you again" so I guess that should be considered the cut-off moment, to be on the safe side.
But in another question of the same FAQ (simplified process FAQ) it says "we will send you a letter requesting support documentation approximately 4 months before we are ready to assess your application". So if sending that letter doesn´t mean that they have actually started assessing (and at that point of time they still have no documents to assess) they have no right to consider sending the letter as a deadline for the refund.
I still haven´t decided 100% to withdraw so I am trying to figure out which is the exact moment when you miss out on the refund.

I think it is clear that if you wish to withdraw your application, you should do it before you get documents request.

your question does not make sense.
1) are you asking about Federal Skilled Worker processing times? if so, when did you apply, and at which consulate?
2) or... have you been accepted as a Federal Skilled Worker and you have been waiting for 14 months for your final documents so you can complete your landing
2 very different questions with 2 very different answers.

Hello,
I applied for PR under Ph.D stream in Jan 2013 and got the initial acceptance with file # etc but now i am planning to defend my work as a Master degree which means i have to Withdraw my PR application. As far as i understand is to write a letter to CPP Ottawa. Do i need to include all the evidences ( letters from Department etc?) Confused!
