Subject: Is it possible to apply from a country..
.. different from the one that one is a national of? I have a fellowship for UK and will be living there for about three months. Would it be possible for me to apply for PR from there?

No, you can apply from another country if you have been legally admitted for atleast 1 year. This means if you are issued a 1 year UK work permit you can apply to CIC London the day after you land in UK.

Many thanks... I had read that particular sentence in one of the websites I had been browsing through...but was not entirely clear on it. Thank you for your prompt reply... so, I guess that it means that I have to apply from Pakistan....

its better wait for a year and apply from UK because if U apply from pakistan then its going to take longer time like 6-7years i guess and from UK is much faster

Hi Janu,

Thanks for your suggestion...unfortunately, I will be in the UK only for the summer break and will be back in Pakistan by september...so, I guess that I would have to pursue this through the long route...
