Subject: Timeline check: AOR- July 2005, IA- September 2006
  Hi All,

Just wanted to check if someone is having a similar timeline/ case as mine and any thoughts.

Here´s my timeline:

Applied: June 2005
AOR: July 2005
IELTS request: August 2005
IA letter (stating that Interview required): September 2006
Interview & Medical request: Not received till date

I had left Canada in June 2005 itself after filing application and had been receiving CIC´s letters on my friends address in Canada. Since then I have been working in India. The IA letter received in Sept. 2006 said that my Initial analysis had been completed and my file has been put in a wait queue for Interview. I have been waiting for any communication from CIC since then. I had even e-mailed them in Jan 2007 to ask if I may have missed any post from them but in the reply they just asked me to wait.

It is extremely frustrating to wait without any info. Does anyone have anything to share? Your comments would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

Ask your friend to order CAIPS for you to see what is going on with your file and why an interview was required in the first place. CAIPS will also tell you when your interview is going to take place if they have already made a decision on that.

A friend of mine with Oct 05 AOR has his interview in July which means you should have received some sort of intimation by now but every case is different.

Hey, thanks for your reply! From what I´ve seen CIC has been asking for an Interview to almost everyone. Ya I think CAIPS would be a good idea to get some info on whats happening. By the way does your friend also has similar case as mine...I mean did he also return back from Canada to India?

No, he is still in Canada. It is not true that CIC is asking everyone for interview I have a lot of friends who have gone through without any interview and in 15-18 months. One possible reason is that they were not able to verify your employment from India or have some doubts about it.

Oh I see...Yes, it makes a big difference if an applicant is in Canada. From what I have also seen from very close cases, people within Canada are given preference and their cases take about 16-20 months.

I had not informed CIC of my return to India and the consecutive job till the January 07 e-mail. In the IA doc which I had received in Sept 06 CIC had advised not to send any doc and just to bring it at the time of Interview. Hence I haven´t sent them any doc about my current employment and address etc. Although I had just mentioned about my job and company in the Jan e-mail.

So I guess I am only left with the option to wait and watch while ordering Caips notes.

Hi, no I do not have US visa yet...but am pretty +ve that I´ll get it...looking at my record i.e. stay in Canada and return and also my current job with a reputed american MNC.

If I don´t get it and the CIC doesn´t give me any option, I´ll trash the plan to Immigrate to such country. Moreover Indian economy is booming with opporunities and money. I am really not sure if I should immigrate at all. It´s just that I wanted to give it a shot, if things look good within 2-3 months of Immigration then only I am gonna stay or else return home happy! Let´s see....

Its good that you have a back-up plan. It helps if something goes wrong. Good luck.

Almost Perfect!!
Immigration from UK - timescale (in reply to: Timeline check: AOR- July 2005, IA- September 2006)
Can anyone offer any encouraging information or advice regarding the horrendous backlog and time delay with immigration applications?
Our application was received in November 2005. We have been advised that our application will not be processed for 36 months from that time, and then it could take up to a year to process.
We own a house in Canada, have found the school our young children will go to and we have sufficient funds to survive without work for some time, if necessary.
It is frustrating to think that we will have to wait until 2010 to live in our house!
Does anyone know any quicker way to immigrate? Does anyone know a way of identifying where in the system we are (ie, ´take a ticket´!)?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks

Hi Amanda,
I can very well understand your frustration. If you´ve applied to Buffalo CIC then I guess it would take between 22 to 30 months from the date of AOR and you won´t have to wait till 2010.

One can get some insight on one´s case by ordering CAIPS notes. As of now I do not have the info about how to get it, but if u search on this forum or elsewhere u´ll get the info. All the best & ya keep an alternate plan without getting obsessed with Canadian Immigration. Take care..Cheers!
