| Subject: CAIPS authorize release form |
I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am looking into ordering my CAIPS. On the Authorize Release form that i must sign, it say Client ID#. What is this #, is this my Buffalo File #?

If you are requesting for information about your pr file then under "REQUEST FOR" tick on CAIPS, provide embassy you applied to and provide your file number. You only get client id if you have been in Canada before.

Indicate that you have a file number and no client ID number yet. Client ID is on your CAIPS file. You dont have to visit Canada to get Client ID.

I believe client id is given to people who have obtained student permit, visitor visa, work permit etc. It is not CAIPS file unless you have been provided it before or is it?

Is there any harm in application process? if someone ask his CAIPS notes?
