Subject: Offered Employment
Hi. In a case where a person is in Canada (visiting) and offered employment, what would be the procedure (paperwork, etc.)?

Many thanks.

It depends on several factors.

Whether or not your occupation requires your employer to seek permission to hire a foreigner. This is sometimes referred to as HRSDC (Human Resorces Skills Developement Canda) approval which issues a Labour Market Opinion (LMO).

Three provinces have lists that greatly reduce this procedure. On May 1st 2007 the Members of Parliament agreed to hold hearings on a procedure to allow illegal skilled workers to remain in Canada instead of being removed for occupations that are in high demand.

I forgot to mention that REGULATION 11 (2) requires that all applicationts for Temporary status in Canada be submitted outside of Canada unless you were already admitted to Canada legally for one Year.
