Subject: Visitor Visa for Parents - expecting baby
  Hello All,

We are expecting a baby and would like our parents to visit. What documents do we need to send them for a tourist visa? Should I mention my wife´s pregnancy in the invitation letter. Please suggest what all should I mention about her pregnancy. If anyone of you has a sample invitation letter, then I will request you to share that also. I will be greateful to you for your help.
My father (he alone) was here on visitor visa last year also. He came on "single entry visa" and this time I wanted to apply for "multiple entry" for both of them. Will that be a good idea?

Please suggest!
Thanks in advance.

Vishal

I just brought over my parents for the same reason. Following are the documents I submitted. It´s better not to mention your wife pregnency as a reason of their visit.

1) Invitation/Sponsorship Letter
2) Ticket/return ticket (If ticket is done)
3) Payslip
4) Bank Statement
5) Employment Letter
6) Copy of Immigration Status
7) Visa Application Form
8) Personal Information Form
9) Leave Letter from current job.
10) 3-photographs each applicant.
11) Copy of T1.

There is no harm in mentioning the pregnancy of your wife rather its a strog reason to invite your parents. My wife was pregnant and i got a letter from her doctor and submitted with application and she is here with us now......make an affidavit and mention the reason why do you want them to come here and also mention that you will provide them accomodation and food etc. and notarize it. Write an invitation letter as well, attach your employment verifiation letter along with pay stubs or bank statment and send it...hopefully they will get the visa....applying for multiple entry is okay, will not affect your application.....do it

Hello Malik,

Thanks for the information.
I will appreciate if you could send me some sample of the invitation letter and your affidavit.
That will help me in finalising my documents as I am little confused here.

Thanks,

Vishal

First of all make a STATUTORY OF DECLARATION and write:
That you and your wife are PR residing at ABC address and you these many kids. Then tell about your employment status. And mention that your wife is pregnant and her expected delivery date is XYZ.
Then state that you needd your parents to be with you to provide her prenatal and postpartum care. And assure Governemnt of Canada that your parents will maintain their temporaray status if admitted and will not become a public charge and you have enough funds to support their stay in Canada. Go to google and type Notary public in toronto or wherever you are. Get this document notarized, they usually charge between 15-30 dollars.

Ask your parents to write the same Affidavit and assure Govt. of Canada that they are intending to visit to provide support and assistance to you guys during pregnancy and postpartum period and get it notarized as well. Attach all the supporting documents representing their close ties to their home country and submitt the application and they will get the visa hopefully. You can search google for some sample statutory declarions and affidavits.
