I have been in Canada for the past 4 months or so. Im on a 12 month working holiday visa. I love this country and i would really like to make my stay permanant. I have a level of skill in food service management, however im 5 points short of qualifying as a skilled worker because i havent worked in canada for more than a year and i have no family here or any education beyond high school. I thought it might be possible to perhaps either extend my work permit or renew it. Im working 2 jobs in canada right now. Please could someone tell me exactly what myself and the companys i work for need to do to ensure i get an extension or renewal on my work permit. One of my jobs is for a a bank and the other is in food service. I would appreciate this so much. Thanks in advance. Peter.

Would the Provincial Nominee Programme be an option? If you/your company can prove that you are not taking a job away from someone either Canadian or working in Canada....you could, with your company´s help try for that. Takes about 6 months. A question, on the working-holiday visa are you restricted as to how many hours you work per week? Something like 20? Not sure if/when you applied if that would be of interest to CIC.

Thanks for replying to my question, in answer to your question i dont have any limits in what hours i work. I did look into that provincial nominee program but i dont think its applicable in the province im in. I am in ontario and they dont have it here. I think im gonna have to apply for a new work permit. I would like to know what i and my company need to do for me to obtain a new working visa. I think they have to complete a local labour market opinion and provide a offer letter. But how do they do the local labour market opinion and do they need to do anything else. Thanks in advance to everyone who replies i really appreciate it
