Subject: Married Students... we need advice
Hello all... i have been living in Canada for 9 and a half years as an
international student i went to high school and then to university.
About 3 yrs ago i started dating my boyfriend and we have decided to
get married not just for immigration but because we love each other
and feel that its about that time. The only thing that we are worried
about is the fact that we are both students and don´t have a solid
income. He is a PR and has been here for over 13 years. He is also
currently a student and his main income is OSAP and jobs during the
summer. We have been living together since we started dating and
recently got joint bank accounts and credit cards. Is it ok for us to
get married as students? do i need to send to information proving that
he is a student? i have also been working part time and during the
summers on campus ... and therefore have some sort of income- should i
include this information when sending the application.
NOW the weeding- we were planning on waiting till we graduate to have
a big weeding but we feel a bit forced and do not really have the
money to do it now. is a weeding necessary ? is there anyone who has
had their application approved without a weeding? i have passed the
medicals and background checks. We have also obtained a marriage
certificate. NOW we are unsure if he is eligible to sponsor me and if
the application will be denied without a formal weeding.
Should i also include infomation proving that the marriage is based on
love -by proving to the officer that I am currently eligible to apply
independently(which i am based on the point system) or should we just
send off what is asked
PLEASE Advice.
Thanks - i wish you all the best!
