Yes, you need to send the following documents to the Saudi Consulate General in New York:

1- Cover letter addressed to general Saudi consulate in NY.
2- Copy of the police clearence request which you received from the Canadian consulate.
3- Copy of any eveidence that you lived/worked in Saudi Arabia such as passports that have Saudi visa stamps, work permit in Saudi Arabia etc.
4- Copy of the fingerprint card.
5- Self addressed Fedex or UPS envelope to return your papers back to you.

The address is:

Saudi Consulate General in New York
866 United Nations Plaza, Suite 480
New York, NY 10017, tel: (212) 752-2740

It takes about 4 to 6 weeks and they do it for free.

All they do is the stamp the blue finger print card with a little "no record found" seal.

thanks alex,
I also got the same information in the website of saudi arabia embassy in canada (it says it takes about 6 months). one big problem is i donot have any proof that showed i lived or worked in saudi. it is true that i lived in saudi for one year. however, the only evidence i had was my passport and that was kept by my employer about four years ago and i donot have it anymore. I informed canada immigration at that time. I donot think i will get the police clearance from saudi arabia without any residence proof in saudi. I planning to write CIC about this instead of trying to get the police clearance from saudi. what do you think?

It doesn´t take six months. I know people who work there and they said it takes from 4 to 6 weeks max.

About your case, I talked to a person who is working in NY office and he said if you don´t have a copy of any proof, just provide a copy of your valid passport and they´ll run the check. The only condition they require is that you have to be legal resident in the country you are currently living in. When you provide a copy of current passport, make sure you include copy of the I-94 or any documents showing that you are legal resident in USA or Canada.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, that would work. Besides the documents you listed, you also have to send a copy of the letter you received from the CIC and cover letter addressed to the Saudi General Consulate in NY.

thanks again alex,
I can also send the document to saudi embassy in ottawa(www.saudiembassy.ca), but it says that it would take upto 6 months for processing. I got their washington DC website from google (www.saudiembassy.net), but it doesnot say anything about police clearance unlike the ottawa website.

I just talked to someone in NY office and they told me the following:

1- You must apply to the Saudi Embassy/Consulate in the country you are currntly living. For example, if you are in Canada, you must apply to the Saudi embassy in Ottawa.

2- In most of the cases, it doesn´t take more than 4 weeks. however, it may take up to 6 weeks sometimes. Don´t worry about whatever is stated in the embassy web site.

To save time, send your documents as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, let me know.
