Subject: New arrival to Canada - Queries at Immigration
  Hi,

I am going to arrive at canada for the first time. I am immigrating under the skilled worker category. What are the questions that
the immigration offiers will be asking me ?.

Also looks like i need to provide a list of items that i will be taking for the first time and then a list of items that i will be taking in my subsequent visit. For my first visit, i am actually not taking anything.... i am just going to give an entry and come back to US. Next time i will be taking all my household items. will this be a problem.. Please advise

Thanks

You will not be asked any difficult to answer or tricky questions. It will not be an interview to issue a visa. So relax... you will be in before you know.

They will give you an application to fill and record the items to follow. It doesnt matter what you write in this form because this is needed to waive any custom duties on your items. This is valid for a month. If the items follow after more than a month... I think you will pay the customs.

Make a list of Goods to carry and list of goods to follow. Take pictures of important goods like ornaments, gold rings, diamonds, bike, car, laptop sr. nos, electronic goods sr. nos etc. Attach those pics to goods to follow list

They will ask for postal address in Canada, currency ur carrying with you etc.

best luck

Yes, goods to follow list has no expiration.
All they asked me was the Canadian address to mail the PR card to, and proof of funds. Relax, it is should be a breeze. Also, if you are entering thru road they will not put a request to mail your PR card, you will need to apply for it when you have a permanent address in Canada.

Thanks,
Brian
