Dear Friends,
I have a question about PR Card. I have obtained the immigration stamp on the passport and intend to go to Canada for the card. However, I heard different stories about how the PR card is issued.
One of my friends told me he got his PR Card right on landing day and the whole process just took about 2 hours.
However, in the official documents sent to me by Canada Government, they clearly state that my mailing address is neeeded for this purpose and the whole process will take from 2 to 4 weeks?
So, is it possible at all for my friend´s case to be true? I mean if it is remotely likely that one could get a PR Card issued right on spot at all?
If so, what kind of stuffs do I need to prepare to make this happen?
Since I myself have some doubts about my friend´s story as I know that Canadian PR card is boasted to carry a lot of anti-piracy stuffs and so how could they possibly just issue one right on spot?
Anyways, I would like the story of my friend to be true cuz I want to have the card in hand ASAP as I plan to make reentry to US for my job.
OK, Please give me some inputs on this issue and any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Hi!
It´s impossible currently to get PR on spot.
You should provide your Canadian address, where your
PR will be send in 30 days period.
But it shouldn´t prevent from you to go back to US.
After you´ll receive your PR on Canadian address (let´s
say your friends or relatives), they can simply send
it to you by e-mail.
In any case, what is important it´s your landing certificate, which you obtain when you enter to Canada.
Even without your PR you could come back to Canada with
this certificate, after prepaying $50CAD in nearest Canadian embassy.

hi
recently i came from pakistan after getting my immigration.
i have few questions regarding pr card.
1-wt is pr card and wt is its status for any immigrant
2-27 days has gone and still i didnt get my pr card, wt should i do know , and from where.
3- now here in canada i am living with my spouse, i would like to change my address to deliver my pr card at my existing address. tell me the procedure.
