Subject: Close to immigrating to Canada
  Hi all,

My family and I have applied for permanent residence in Canada and we feel that we are pretty close to being approved. I now have a bunch of questions about settling down in Canada. Would really appreciate it if someone can help.

We´re thinking about moving to the Toronto area since I´ve read that there are many opportunities in this area (I´m open to suggestions :D). Can anyone advise on what plan-of-action I should take once we get the ´go´ signal from the Canadian Embassy? We really don´t know anyone in Canada and I´m willing work on any profession just to get started.

Also, I would really appreciate it if someone can provide information on how much one usually earns in Canada and how much is the cost of living per month (apartment, transportation, utilities, food, etc.). I´m just a little nervous about not having a job and new in town. Any info will really be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I don´t know if Toronto is the best city to start, but all depends what you do for living I guess.

I am from Alberta, and there is a booming economy over here.

Thanks for sharing the break downs of expenses samusa. It is highly appreciated. Like hp I too am nervous about the new life and new country that I will live for the more decades of my life. The data you shared although you said ´not yours´ is a good predictor for the kind of job and the amount of money I should be earning.
Thanks again.
